Seven years ago, the original Bazbeaux moved just a few yards down the street from its Broad Ripple home. Later this year, the gourmet pizza restaurant will do the same thing on Mass Ave – moving across the street to the new Three Mass Condos building.
Co-owner Deb Borchelt said the move will increase the pizzeria’s space by about a third, to 4,732 square feet. More importantly, she said, Bazbeaux will more than double its patio seating, from 30 at its current home, 334 Mass Ave, to 80.
The main entrance to the new Bazbeaux will be on Mass Ave, but the ground-floor space will extend to New York Street, allowing patio space on both streets.
No opening date has yet been targeted, but Borchelt said she hopes the move can be made by the end of the year. Any shutdown for the move would be limited to one or two non-peak days, she said.
