Important Abe Lincoln exhibit ticketing information

An exhibit by the Library of Congress including such bedrock American documents as the Emancipation Proclamation and Lincoln’s first and second inaugural addresses, with interactive elements.

With Charity for All: The Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection

Feb. 12 through July 25

An exhibition by the Indiana State Museum  exploring Lincoln the man –a loyal friend, an independent son, a compassionate husband and a notoriously lenient father.

Timed tickets are ‘must-haves’

By mid-January, more than 10,000 timed-tickets had already been reserved for the two world-class Abraham Lincoln exhibitions opening at the Indiana State Museum on Feb. 12.  There is no additional charge for the exhibitions beyond normal museum admission (free for members and $7 adults/$4 children/$6.50 seniors).

Visitors must call the museum to make reservations for tickets, 232-1637. Although members are admitted free, museum officials are strongly recommending against coming to the museum without a timed ticket obtained in advance.

The museum is expecting large crowds for the exhibitions, especially during the month of February when signed copies of both the Emancipation Proclamation and Thirteenth Amendment will be on display; after February the two documents will be rotated to protect them from harmful atmospheric conditions. It is important to note the museum will continue to be closed on Mondays, but will have extended hours on Thursdays and Fridays through April, with reservations through 8 p.m.
