The swimming pool bathhouse at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park is set to receive more than $75,000 in in-kind work, thanks to a public-private partnership between Citizens Energy Group and Indy Parks.
The work will culminate from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, as the Citizens Energy Group Sharing the Dream 2010 Employee Volunteer Day of Service when employees will paint and complete other projects at the bathhouse.
A day later, similar work will go on at Pride Park on the city’s Eastside.
An open house will be conducted at both parks from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Jan. 18, to showcase the improvements.
Much of the heavy work involving contractors will have be completed before the volunteer days, including new roofs, installation of new appliances and other construction.
